Legion Ministravaganza Highlights
After a full weekend of panels, developer insights and painting streams we have news to share for Star Wars Legion! If you werent able to tune in or if you simply need a recap, we have you covered with everything that was shown.
First up we have all new Battleforce for the CIS, Experimental Droids. This Battleforce provides new options for both the MagnaGuards and the Snail tank droids. While also allowing Magna’s to count as Corp units. Even better the rules for this battleforce are out now! You can find them on the website resources page.
Wookie Defenders
CIS arent the only one getting a battleforce. GAR players will be able to create squads based around the droids attack on the wookiees. This battleforce comes with new options for the fluttercraft. Clones and grand master yoda are also options for this squad. Just like the last one this battle force is out now and you can find it on our resources page
Moving from battleforces to new units, the Geonosians will be swarming onto tabletops early next year. These inventive bugs free jump will allow them to be all over the battlefield and provide plenty of new options for CIS core units. Design from sculpts try to find new ways to simulate their flying then current flight stands using terrain as connecting points.
Every Geonosian needs more then its foot soldiers, as Poggle the Lesser and Sun Fac will be coming along side them to further build out possible Geonosian squads. Poggle takes on a more support role for the squad with sun fac providing sneaky options with cover. Both of these units will arrive together alongside the other Geos early next year.
On the hunt for more Jedi the aggressive Fifth Brother and devious Seventh Sister arrive in Q2 of next year. These operatives can be taken alone or together as Seventh Sister comes with Associate allowing her to not count against your number of operatives if Fifth is in the army. These two provide a interesting forced teamwork approach as Fifth Brother is an all in brute compared to Seventh Sisters more tactical planning. The pair also get their very own upgrade card that will send fear into the hearts of Jedi.
Teases for the future
Republic Commandos arrive later in 2024
These fan favorite clones are sure to provide plenty of excitement for GAR players. Whenever the republic needs a task done right this is who they call.
Delta Squad
Thats not all. The stars of the popular Republic Commando games will also be coming alongside generic commandos.
Imperial Range Troopers
As scene in Solo these troopers were a bit more skilled then standard corp stormtroopers. AMG also worked with LFL closely to work out what their heavies would be as they werent shown in the flim.
LM-432 Crab Droid
These mechanized crabs will be joining CIS armies in the future. Still early in development we only got a rendering of the model but eagerly looking forward to seeing it climb over tables in the future.
Rebel Sabotaurs
We also got another render of future saboteurs pack for the Rebels. These units were heavily inspired by Andor’s vault robbers. These underdogs will have to make due with that they have to fight the empire.
Future Resculpt Project
AMG also talked about a project their working on. Since Legion was first designed using soft plastic many older units dont have the same visual detail that the new hard plastic models offer. So AMG is working on redoing all of those older soft plastic models in hard plastic. the first of these were shown off rebel commandos, stormtroopers, leia and luke and commander vader will be the first of these arriving in 2025.
